KEY DIFFERENCES:
SPEED OF GRINDER:
The Cody II has a speed of 960 rpm, grinding approximately one to two grams of coffee per second. The E65S has a speed of 1,650 RPM, grinding approximately four to seven grams of coffee per second.
PARTICLE SIZE DISTRIBUTION:
The CODY ll has Italian made 64 mm flat steel burrs and the E65S has Switzerland made (Ditting branded) 65 mm flat steel burrs. Flat burrs grind the coffee uniformly. Because it creates uniform coffee particles, a flat burr grinder will generate balanced extraction and bring out the nuances of the coffee while complementing chocolaty and nutty notes. If you enjoy a deeper, sweeter espresso flavor, a flat burr grinder is going to be a great option.
GRINDER RETENTION:
Retention in the CODY ll is around 2-3 grams and the E65S is around .5 grams.
